The beginning started off a little slow, but by chapter four I was completely hooked. I was swept into a magical dark academia world that reminded me of why I fell in love with fantasy in the first place. Think Harry Potter vibes, but spicier, even more epic, and deadly. Once it picked up, I couldn’t put it down. This is easily one of the best books I’ve read in a while, and I’m already counting down the days until the next one.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝:

❥ The wit and banter were so satisfying. The dialogue felt sharp, clever, and natural. I found myself smiling, gasping and on the edge of my seat.

❥ The tension is a delicious slow burn. There are two potential love interests, I am leaning towards one but honestly would be happy with either one…or both 😉. They are unique and mysterious in their own intriguing ways.

❥ The side characters absolutely stole my heart. They’re vibrant, memorable, and full of personality. I’m so excited to see how they develop throughout the series. Absolutely loved the groups dynamic!

❥ My only thing is I wish it had picked up sooner, but chapter three isn’t bad.
