The first half of this book was fantastic, great banter, tension, and character development. It felt like a solid five-star book in the making. But around the halfway point, the focus shifted almost entirely to smut, with only small bits of plot in-between. It felt abrupt and a little disappointing, as if the author changed their writing style mid-book or added random scenes just to fill space. The story lost the spark that made it so strong in the beginning.
