Desperate to free herself and her sister from their abusive stepfather and stepsister Vanya is sent on a mission to steal the crown from the palace. She stumbles into the prince who mistakes her for the princess he is being forced to marry. Vanya is not a damsel who has to be saved. She fights for her own freedom, faces her own demons.

This beautiful Cinderella retelling has witchy vibes, is set in a world with a magic, ghosts, a goddess of death and is definitely one of my favorites. I loved the side characters so much and I discovered the author is also writing books for them.
