I went into this book mostly blind, and it was incredible. Some of the plot twists I saw coming, but others completely blindsided me, in the best way. Usually I can semi predict the story, and I can’t believe I didn’t catch them sooner! Needless to say there were a few 'gasps' and 'WTF' moments.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙:

❥ I wasn’t sure how hand speak would play out at first, sometimes it can feel forced or confusing in books, but it was so HOT. I’m obsessed. Him not being able to speak made the physical yearning so much more intense. “Three taps with his finger means it belongs to him.” 🥵🫠

❥ I fell hard for the side characters, Prince Thane and Princess Yrsa especially. I need more of them in book two! Prince Thane reminds me of Caldon from The Prison Healer. A secret badass with a fun charming personality.

❥ The setting was unique. It gave off Viking vibes mixed with a fantasy court atmosphere, and the magic system was unlike anything I’ve read before.

❥ The beginning was a bit rough to follow, but it smoothed out nicely after a few chapters.
